Why are ticker symbols with dashes ‘-’ not showing in Polygon’s system? Example - BRK-A

We use the same ticker symbol layout as the SIPs. For any ticker symbol that has a “-” dash, we replace that with a “.” dot.

For example, BRK-A is represented as BRK.A in our database. We also use lower case “p” in preferred shares ticker symbols. For example, APTVPA would be listed as APTVpA.

You can always use the “search” function in our Tickers endpoint to query the company name if you are unsure of the ticker symbol.
